Three arrested in identity theft probe

Sacramento Bee

Three people were arrested in an Auburn Boulevard motel over the weekend in connection with an identity theft ring that had been operating out of a Roseville apartment, authorities said.

Placer County Sheriff's Department detectives, in cooperation with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, arrested Tisha Sartor, 25; Jonathan Pendergrass, 25; and Patty Klith, 22.

In the motel room - rented under the name of one of the victims - the three were found in possession of stolen driver's licenses and Social Security cards, according to a Placer County Sheriff's Department news release.

Each was wanted on a $250,000 arrest warrant for conspiracy and identity theft.

Sartor and Pendergrass had additional Sacramento County warrants and were booked into the Sacramento County jail. Klith was booked into Placer County jail.

Authorities are searching for Luis Sotelo, 37, who is believed to have fled California. Sotelo is wanted on a $250,000 arrest warrant for conspiracy and identity theft.
