Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force
Receives Major Donation

Sheriff Lou Blanas and the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, on behalf of all five of California’s Hi-Tech Crimes Task Forces, will receive a $250,000.00 donation to support their work in investigating and prosecuting technology related crimes.

The $250,000.00 Microsoft donation was arranged by California Attorney General Bill Lockyer from a settlement in a 1999 criminal software counterfeiting case.

In addition to Sheriff Blanas, the following representatives will be in attendance:

  • Aaron Kornblum/ Internet Safety Enforcement Attorney for Microsoft Corp.
  • Robert Morgester/ Deputy Attorney General
  • Albert Locher/Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney, Sacramento County
  • Senator Elaine Alquist/ Chair, Senate Committee on Public Safety
